The moon; Scolymus

The moon seen through dead trees

Dry scolymus seen by the edge of the fields

Two kinds of Scolymus (golden thistle) grow along the paths by our village: S. hispanicus and S. maculata. In the summer, these plants dry up, leaving their tall scaffolding by the side of the fields. According to their descriptions in Wikipedia, I think this one is the S. maculata

Afternoon walk

While the heat has been literally killing people over in France and the UK, here it’s been quite pleasant all week – mid 20’s C. Around sunset, we went for a walk with the dog.

The photos show the dome of the house of silence (doumia / sakinah) and some dead pines in the forest.

And… What’s been eating our plants

After the fire

It isn’t a problem with the camera in this case, or my unique way of seeing the world. Just how things looked around here after the fire last week. They douse the flames from the air with a pink coloured spray.
